Plus Another Huge Announcement!
Woohoo! I am so glad to be writing my first blog at Bergh Images. It not only means my new photography website has launched – it also gives me a chance to puff my chest about the grand opening of my photography gallery on Bainbridge Island.
A little history, if I may. Please keep this to yourself, but I was once a full-time practicing lawyer. I began my career as a prosecutor, switched to insurance defense work, and for the last two decades have represented clients with significant personal injury claims. Given the demands of my practice, my long-time passion for photography was essentially dormant. Things started to change in 2010 when I bought my first digital camera and large-format inkjet printer. Things really changed in the summer of 2015, which is when I relocated my business from downtown Seattle to Bainbridge Island where I live. From the get-go, my game plan was to convert approximately one-third of my office to a gallery. This type of endeavor doesn’t happen overnight, but after months and months (and yet more months) of planning and preparation, The Gallery at Bergh Images has at long last opened its doors. From four walls and a ceiling, the place has come a long way! My goal was to create a warm and friendly environment where customers feel comfortable as soon as they walk through the doors – and are instantly intrigued by the plethora of images awaiting their attention. While I will let customers decide how successful I’ve been, here are some “before” and “after” shots to illustrate the changes:
So what wares am I offering at The Gallery? Pretty much the same matted prints, metal prints, and canvas prints available at my online store. The main difference is that I offer a wider selection at The Gallery, including 12×16 matted prints and a tasteful assortment of custom-framed prints.
If you are ever in my neighborhood, please do stop by and visit The Gallery. Admission is free and you can linger however long you want! My office doubles as a working studio, so I will usually be there focusing on other images and projects. Not to worry, you’ll be able to browse completely on your own – though I’ll be happy to answer any questions you may have, or swap stories if one of my travel images rekindles memories from one of your own trips.
If you appreciate photography, I would encourage you to sign up for future blogs. My plans are to feature an “Image of the Week” and also provide updates about The Gallery, including new images, promotions, or mini-exhibitions. There also might be an occasional travel or photography tip, or even a guest blogger or two. And I can promise you this, in no uncertain terms, there won’t be any boring law talk!
The more the merrier, so if you enjoy what you see and read here, please tell your family and friends about my website. For gallery hours, visit my Contact page.
Ciao for now!
Andrew (“Andy”) Bergh
